ABOUT

Stephanie Hope Lawlor (she/her) is an actor, singer, theatre maker and teaching artist in Hamilton, Ontario.

Stephanie grew up sitting in the audience for countless productions across Southern Ontario, and it took her a while but eventually, she found her way on stage and couldn’t believe what she’d been missing.

Since then, she’s graduated from McMaster University and the Randolph College for the Performing Arts (formerly Randolph Academy, where she secured a nomination for the coveted Triple Threat Award), studied acting and musical theatre under some of the finest artists and directors in Canada, began teaching and facilitating with young artists and professionals, and worn out a few pairs of character shoes in the process.

Stephanie has performed and taught across Canada and participated in several workshops and readings of new works. She can't decide what experience has been her favourite, but knows she's Instagrammed memories from all of them.

Currently, Stephanie serves as the Theatre Department Coordinator for the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, sits on the Board of Directors for the gritLIT Festival, and is Artistic Director for Rook's Theatre. She is the recipient of the Cutting Edge: Innovation Award in the inaugural Gilded Hammer Awards (2020) for her work in the Hamilton theatre community and a two-time Hamilton Arts Award nominee.

In her downtime, Stephanie loves hosting micro-dinner parties, watching YouTube videos about ballet, and coffee shop hopping as she tries to find the best oat milk cappuccino in the city.
